October 2008

Working with the Mill Valley International Film Festival in support of the new documentary about Scott's heroes, the 'WRECKING CREW', a once in a lifetime performance was given featuring HAL BLAINE, DON RANDI and many other special guests at the Throckmorton Theater in Mill Valley.
If you are unfamiliar with who the WRECKING CREW are (shame on you), check out the documentary's website; www.wreckingcrew.tv/  and you will surely be blown away. You will also realize you know them very, very well.

Scott was honored to be able to assemble the living legends and serve as musical director/drummer/vocalist with the very studio musicians that inspired him to want to go into the recording industry as a wee pup way back in the 70's. These are the most recorded musicians ever on the planet! Needless to say, every special guest contacted said yes immediately. PETER TORK of THE MONKEES flew across the country for the opportunity to share the stage with the guys from the studio that provided his band with countless hits in the 60's. When Scott wanted to close the show with a rousing BEACH BOYS number the musicians had cut, he chose 'Help Me Rhonda' and with one phone call to his pal AL JARDINE, all of the sudden he was making history by having the world's first live performance of that classic BRIAN WILSON song featuring the same voice that originally sang the lead vocal on it with the same group of musicians that originally played it backing him up. This show was indeed one for the books and will be talked about for a long, long time as it is highly unlikely such a grouping will ever happen again. Pure magic...

Scott wrapped up the month by doing some guest speaking at music conferences, including the popular SanFran MusicTech Summit which brings together the best and brightest developers in the Music/Technology space, along with the musicians, entrepreneurial business people, press, investors, service providers, and organizations who work with them at the convergence of culture and commerce. Besides the current state of affairs in music production, he discussed the evolving music/business/technology ecosystem as a proactive environment conducive to deal making.
