As he does every year, Tom Luekens left his post at TikiTown’s mixing board to visit Vermont for the month and engineer the annual Marlboro Music Festival.
Scott took the time to do more work on ManaSonic, but also found plenty of time for fun. As an example of said fun, he organized a ‘garage band’ to play his birthday party. The members of the band were: Jimmy Buffett, Clint Black, Robbie Krieger (The Doors), Mickey Hart (The Dead), Zac Brown, JD Souther and a few others that followed Scott’s strict policy of ‘no rehearsal, ever.’ Now, that is one impossible dream band!
Following the party to end all parties, Scott flew to Birmingham, Alabama to work with a sweetheart of a guy - up and comer, Jay Rainer. The sessions were fun and full of great southern Rock & Roll, plus Scott got a chance to taste a different BBQ establishment each and every day. Some days it was BBQ for breakfast … that’s a serious commitment to Q!
Scott also discovered jars of ‘Fresh Pig Lips,’ which proved to be a disturbing yet somehow hilarious local delicacy that he never quite found the courage to dine on. These fine products were advertised and purchased at a neighborhood gas station.
